  • Good Communication Skills For Verbally Interacting With Others Outside And Inside The Business
  • Ability To Prioritise, Plan And Organise Work
  • Skills To Acquire And Process Information
  • Skills To Evaluate Quantitative Data
  • Specific Technical Knowledge Required For The Role
  • Expertise In Computer Software Programmes
  • Skills To Develop And Edit Written Reports
  • Skills To Sell And Influence Clients And Customers

As you can see, the first 5 attributes and skills mentioned in list are primarily soft skills that enable you to effectively interact with different parties. These skills included as a part of your emotional intelligence quotient or EQ. I am sure you will have a hard time finding college courses that specifically teach such skills. The second part of the top 10 skills list mentions specific skills like good communication and written skills, having analytical thinking as well as computer proficiency.

What Can You Do?

If you want to make the most of the employment opportunities in 2015, then its time you start to improve and highlight your analytical skills. As technology is advancing constantly, it has become more important for job-seekers to gain expertise on how to use computers for various tasks. By focussing on your analytical and data skills you can add significant value to your resume and better your employability.

However, it is also important that you focus on developing your soft skills for getting a job in 2015. Make sure you highlight these skills on your resume and describing these traits regarding your previous job responsibilities while attending interviews.

Improve Your EQ

Moreover it is also important that you take the necessary steps to improve your soft skills and EQ. In another survey by CareerBuilder, it was found that 71 per cent of respondents claimed EQ is more valuable than IQ when taking recruiting decisions. Hence you must ensure that you have the right skill sets and have gained proficiency over them.
